Talenter returns to the Azores with a local team dedicated to candidates, employees, and partner companies, strengthening support for the Hospitality and Industry sectors in the region.
Between 2008 and 2023, Talenter maintained a direct physical presence in the Azores, closely following local companies and professionals. After a period of ensuring this follow-up remotely, the company now reinforces its strategy in the archipelago with a local team dedicated to candidates, employees, and clients.
Being physically present in the Azores brings decisive strategic advantages when the goal is to recruit and retain talent. Although remote work has shortened distances, the insular reality imposes its own labor market dynamics, which strongly benefit companies that are “on the ground,” especially when the focus is on meeting the needs of the tertiary sector, through Talenter Hospitality, and the secondary sector, through Talenter Industry. Currently, Talenter has 50 open positions in the region, mainly for profiles such as waitstaff, housekeeping staff, kitchen assistants, receptionists, and cooks in Hospitality, and production operators and drivers in Industry.
In the Azores, the company’s networks and reputation in the local community carry significant weight. Being present allows for the building of direct trust relationships with potential candidates: the on-site recruiter better understands the cost of living, the dynamics between islands, and the typical regional expectations for balancing personal and professional life.
The team in the Azores starts with a dedicated on-site member, supported by the mainland team, and will focus its activities in Ponta Delgada, Ribeira Grande, and Rabo de Peixe. The plan is to strengthen this local team in 2027, the year in which Talenter estimates achieving 125% growth in the region.
Local presence is further reinforced by a partnership with the University of the Azores, which allows direct contact with research centers and recent graduates. This proximity facilitates direct protocols for professional internships and trainee programs, even before students enter the open market.
For Talenter, companies that invest in the region become real opportunities for young Azoreans not to need to emigrate or move to the mainland to build their careers. And when it is necessary to recruit professionals from outside the region, having a team on the ground makes all the difference in the onboarding process, in supporting settlement, and in family integration.
While remote recruitment addresses specific needs, having a presence in the Azores transforms Talenter into an active agent of the local ecosystem, ensuring priority for Azorean talent and greater effectiveness in integrating those coming from outside.
